National Dance Institute

For the 2019-20 school year, I worked as a teaching artist with National Dance Institute (NDI). I collaborated with other teaching artists and musicians to teach energetic and rigorous dance classes to over 350 students in NYC public schools every week.

NDI launched ndiLIVE! in April 2020 to keep young dancers engaged despite massive school closures during the COVID-19 pandemic. I created an NDI-style warm-up accompanied by Claudia Govantes, shown above, that was featured on their social media platforms.

CityStep

I worked as a CityStep teacher in Philadelphia schools from 2015-2018, working with a team of undergraduate teachers to mentor 4th and 7th grade students through an in-school, collaborative dance curriculum. I served various leadership roles within the organization including Head Teacher, Show Chair, and Co-Education Director.

After receiving the Wallace Award in 2017, a generous grant from Platt Performing Arts House, I went on to work with the Founder and Executive Director at CityStep.org, the nonprofit organization overseeing all CityStep chapters. I continued working with CityStep.org in many different capacities, primarily as Social Media Director, where I edited videos to demonstrate organizational values and to bolster fundraising efforts.

Project D.A.N.C.E.

What ultimately turned into a career began as my Girl Scout Gold Award. Reflecting upon my own transformative experience through dance, I decided to launch Project D.A.N.C.E. (Dance Appreciation to Nurture Confidence through Expression) as a workshop series designed to introduce children to different styles of dance, cost-free.
